On October 29, 2012 Hurricane Sandy (sometimes referred to as Superstorm Sandy) struck New York City, causing unprecedented damage to our beloved city. It closed down our subways, knocked out power for days, displaced thousands of us, and caused unforeseen damage to countless of our businesses. But despite the blow Hurricane Sandy dealt us, New Yorkers emerged – and continue to emerge – stronger than ever.
On this, the first anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, we will be sure to take an extra moment to appreciate all of the blessings we enjoy in our lives. We will also share our pride in how our fellow New Yorkers joined forces to overcome the largest Atlantic hurricane on record.
If you have a Hurricane Sandy story you’d like to share, we welcome you to do so in the comments section on this blog.
